Sebastian

Before I jump into the cigar friendly places I want to give a big shout out to my new friend and tobacconist Henry Kalinowski from The Kings Humidor in Sebastian Florida. Henry’s shop has been open just shy of a year and he has done an outstanding business to date.

As a retired Golf Pro from Long Island NY, tobacconist Henry Kalinowski, moved down to sunny Florida and eventually decided to open a much-needed cigar shop in Sebastian. Henry himself has a personal humidor with over 5000 sticks and some of his aged cigars are featured in the Kings Humidor including some of the hardest to find Opus X collections. Thanks Henry, now we all will know where to get those fine sticks to enjoy on the boat.

If you have never been to Grant, I suggest you take a trip down and if you are travelling south on US-1 stop over at the Old Fish House Bar and Grill. There is tremendous history to this establishment and they have an excellent menu of food, wine, beer, and spirits. They offer free Texas Holdem games 3 day a week including Saturday afternoons and there is an expansive outdoor patio that overlook the Indian River which is of course cigar friendly.

As you get into Sebastian on US-1 South, you can’t help notice Captain Butchers. This is a one stop shop for fishing, dining, and lodging. You can rent a room at the inn if you want a nice place to stay in the Sebastian FL area, charter a boat, or enjoy the restaurant and patio with wonderful views of the Indian River. The restaurant has an extensive menu of food options from the freshest seafood to land lubber diets. The outdoor deck is beautiful and of course cigar friendly, looking out over the Indian River. Highly recommended.

Hailing from Melbourne, I have to give an Honorable mention to Squid Lips. Here is a place you can visit by car or by sea. Just cruise up with you boat, dock it, and enjoy some fine grub. The only issue I had with this location is the limited smoking space. They do not have an outdoor patio but do offer benches along the dock where you can enjoy you stogie.

A visit to Sebastian is just not complete without stopping over at Captain Hirams Resort and their world famous sand bar. The Sandbar is the center of Capt. Hiram’s nightlife, with 3 full bars operating in a Bahamian atmosphere and all featuring views of the Indian River. From tasty drinks to great food to live music this is a full fledged resort and party scene. They are certified cigar friendly and I assure you fun will be had by all.
